Meaning “Fortress of Auspicious Fortune” was rebuilt from the ruins of Dongdi dzong in 1656 by Terton Pema Lingpa. It was renovated and consecrated in 2005. It is also home to the black necked crane and border to Arunachal Pradesh in India. It’s also known for its Wildlife Sanctuary at Bumdelling.

Chorten Kora
Built in 1740 by Lama Nawang Loday and patterned on the stupa of Boudhanat in Kathmandu, Nepal. Devotees from Merak, Sakteng and Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh neighboring Indian state) visit for Chorten kora festival.

Gomphu Kora
Located closer to Trashigang on the way towards Trashiyangtse. It is a sacred site where Guru Rinpoche subdued an evil spirit. The annual festival is held on a ground next to the temple. In the past, the festival was held as an occasion for the people to choose their spouses.
